Or one can pursue drawing as a personal study, taking up paper and pen (or pencil) and going out into the world to simply sketch. Scribbling is a way of filling in empty space in any drawing. The pencil drawing is quite rough at this stage - basic shapes and lines, no detailing or shading. When the pencil drawing is complete, I place a fresh sheet of paper over the top and begin to ink. You should keep a conscious effort to use a variety of different lines in your drawing by pressing harder or by lifting your pencil.
